About this treatmentTreatments and diagnosis
Everything we do serves one purpose: find the cause of the problem and, wherever the tooth can be predictably restored, keep it. Each page explains what the treatment involves, when it is recommended and what to expect — in plain English.
Gentle, microscope-assisted treatment that removes the infected tissue from inside the tooth, disinfects the root canals and seals them so the tooth can be kept and restored.
About this treatmentA second chance for a tooth whose earlier root canal treatment has failed: the old filling is removed, missed or infected canals are found and treated, and the tooth is sealed again.
About this treatmentEvery root canal is treated under an operating microscope, which reveals fine, curved and hidden canals that are easy to miss with the naked eye.
About this treatmentRoot-end surgery (apicectomy) performed under the microscope when infection persists around the root tip and treatment through the crown of the tooth is not possible.
About this treatmentCracks are examined under magnification to find out how deep they run, whether the pulp is involved and which option gives the tooth the best long-term chance.
About this treatmentAssessment and treatment of teeth that have been knocked, chipped, loosened or knocked out, including monitoring the nerve for months after the injury.
About this treatmentNot every toothache needs a root canal. Careful testing and the right X-rays pinpoint which tooth is responsible and what treatment, if any, it actually needs.

Book a consultationHow it works
Whether you come to us through your dentist or on your own initiative, the first appointment is an assessment: your history, an examination, cold and bite tests and radiographs where needed. You leave with a written plan that sets out the diagnosis, the recommended treatment, the likely prognosis of the tooth and the fee. Treatment is booked only once you are happy with the plan.
If your dentist has already examined the tooth, we review their findings at your first visit and let them know if ours differ. If you are in pain now, tell us when you call — acute cases are seen promptly.
Book a consultation
A consultation tells you exactly what is wrong, whether the tooth can be saved and what it will cost — in writing, before anything starts. Call the practice to book, or to arrange an emergency appointment if you are in pain.
