About the practice

Endodontic care in Market Harborough, done one tooth at a time

We do one thing: diagnose and treat problems inside teeth so that they can be kept. No general dentistry, no hygiene appointments — just root canal treatment, retreatment, surgery and the care of cracked and injured teeth, under the microscope, with time to do it well.

Why a dedicated endodontic practice

Root canal treatment rewards concentration. The canals are small, the anatomy varies from tooth to tooth and the margin for error is slim: a canal that is missed, a root filling that stops short or a seal that leaks are the reasons treatments fail. A practice that does only this work can invest in the operating microscope, the ultrasonic and electronic instruments and — just as importantly — the appointment length that the work requires.

That is the whole idea behind Endodontist Market Harborough. You remain a patient of your own dentist for everything else; we look after the inside of the tooth and hand it back ready to be restored.

How we work

  • Diagnosis before treatment. We test the teeth and take the X-rays we need before anything is recommended. If the tooth does not need root canal treatment, we say so.
  • A written plan. After the consultation you receive the diagnosis, the proposed treatment, the realistic prognosis and the fee in writing. You decide in your own time.
  • The microscope for every tooth. Magnification is not reserved for difficult cases; it is how all treatment and retreatment is carried out here.
  • Modern disinfection and materials. Rubber dam isolation, electronic length measurement, ultrasonic activation of the irrigants and current sealing materials are standard.
  • Unhurried appointments. Treatment is scheduled with enough time to finish properly, usually in one visit.
  • Plain English. You will understand what is wrong, what we intend to do and what to expect afterwards.

Nervous patients

A large proportion of the people we see have had a difficult dental experience in the past, or simply dread the idea of a root canal. We would rather know. Tell us when you book and we will plan the appointment around you: a full explanation first, anaesthetic that is tested before we begin, a signal to pause at any time and regular breaks if you want them. Most anxious patients tell us afterwards that the appointment was far easier than they had feared.

Fees

The fee depends on the tooth and the complexity of the treatment, so we do not quote a single price for "a root canal". The exact fee is confirmed in your written plan after the consultation and before treatment starts, and it does not change part-way through.

Working with your dentist

Most of our patients are referred by dentists in Market Harborough, Lutterworth, Kettering, Corby, Leicester and the villages between — though you are welcome to contact us directly. After treatment your dentist receives a report with X-rays and our recommendation for the final restoration, so that the tooth is protected promptly and your records stay complete.

Where to find us

Appointments are arranged by telephone. Our contact page has the details; if you are in pain, say so when you call and we will do our best to see you quickly.
